Had the chance to travel a little of Utah this past week and got to see some pretty amazing places. One of the places that I got to visit was the Sundance Mountain Resort. It’s a very nice place to stop for a meal or to stay a night or two.
We stopped in just for food. The restaurant is designed in a cabin style. It’s not very big, but has some windows that look out into the wilderness. The nice thing about that was there was some snow on the ground. Being from an area that doesn’t get snow, that was pretty cool to see.
So down to the real business. I ordered a glass of their Sundance Cab and was very impressed. Right out of the bottle it was smooth with a little bit of sweetness and after it finished, there was no aftertaste. It was a medium bodied wine with a nice color and a deep rich taste. It was one of the best cabs I’ve had at a restaurant that I could remember. Asked about where I could get a bottle of it, and it was only their onsite for $85.
The food was also amazing. I had a tenderloin Philly Cheesesteak style sandwich (it was on special) with sweet potato fries. The meat was amazingly tender and the fries were cooked perfectly. To top things off I had a cup of coffee that also didn't disappoint.
The atmosphere makes you want to sit, relax and not rush off. You’re in a log cabin style building, surrounded by mountains with snow on them. You can’t really beat that setting. If I’m ever back in that area I will be stopping again for a meal and maybe a night.

Below are a couple of pictures from the grounds. Enjoy.
