Area: Around the Fresno area

How Did This Bottle Show Up: Stopped by a tasting room in Fresno and was recommended this bottle.
Aromas: There’s a little alcohol on the nose but it doesn’t overpower the aromas of fruit.
Visually: Puts a very nice layer of wine on the side of the glass and is very slow to form any legs. The red is right in the middle where you’d expect a wine blend of this type to be.
Thoughts:
A quick story about this wine. I tried it first at a tasting room (Beyond the Wine) in Fresno. Then a friend and I were out trying to find a winery to do a quick tasting before meeting some friends for dinner. The first winery we went to was closed. So we jumped on apple maps and found another tasting room in the area that neither of us had been to before. So we headed off to do a tasting at Moravia Wines. I had no idea that we were about to walk into the winery that made this wine. They had a great indoor sitting area for tastings (Fresno can get very hot during the summer) and we had a blast doing the tastings and chatting with the winemaker but it’s time to get into the wine.
As the sip starts there is some drying of the mouth but it quickly passes. Moving back over the tongue it displays a very smooth flavor leading into a finish that has a bit of a bite that disappears quickly into a slight aftertaste that has a little sugar on it.
Overall I like this wine for a second or third bottle. The flavor is pretty good but I don’t think I would start a dinner party off with it however I would easily drink it during the week as something to just sit back and relax with. After all, it’s got a pretty cool label.
